What you can expect as an Operations Manager at West Star:
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the Project Manager and Shift Manager teams to ensure all operations are successfully executed within the assigned hangar or service hub. This role works closely with Service Hub Management and the Administrative Team to oversee work order management, operational analytics, manpower planning, and overall maintenance execution.
The Operations Manager provides oversight of third-party vendors, engineering and technical support, payroll and timecard accountability, scheduling, and workforce planning. This position develops and implements best-practice methodologies while driving a continuous-improvement, process-based culture focused on safety, service, profitability, accuracy, and speed.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a fact-based management style, proactively addressing business and customer needs. The Operations Manager serves as a key change agent with a strong focus on people, processes, tooling, and operational efficiency to achieve faster turnaround times (TAT), increased quality, and cost savings.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
  • Organizing and directing the Project Manager and Shift Manager teams.
  • Leading the implementation of operational initiatives, processes, metrics, and measurements to ensure aircraft are delivered on time, on budget, and defect-free.
  • Working closely with the administrative team on work order management, disputes, and closures.
  • Partnering with customers, planners, and site leadership to meet operational and technical requirements.
  • Coordinating with fleet operations and site maintenance to ensure proper planning and execution.
  • Ensuring standards, policies, and procedures are developed and followed by the workforce.
  • Developing strategic manpower, equipment, and tooling requirements.
  • Monitoring and improving billable and non-billable hours.
  • Overseeing timecards, vacation planning, and payroll accountability.
  • Reviewing work orders for completion, accuracy, and proper documentation.
  • Tracking and analyzing key operational metrics and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Identifying trends through analytical data and implementing corrective actions.
  • Performing root-cause analysis on quality and schedule issues.
  • Developing and implementing action plans to improve performance and reduce defects.
  • Coordinating manpower across shifts to support aircraft workloads.
  • Leading annual performance reviews with input from leadership.
  • Fostering strong, professional relationships with customers and fleet operators.
  • Motivating, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Coordinating projects across multiple shifts and departments.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Leadership, Aviation, or a related field preferred.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required.
Your Experience:
10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.
Proven management experience leading high-performing teams.
Experience in corporate aircraft maintenance environments.
Working knowledge of Corridor, cost-accounting systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational, communication, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
LEAN, Six Sigma, or 5S experience preferred.

Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation & Benefit Information

The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The salary range for this position generally ranges between $120,000 - $140,000. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation time.
