Hybrid Work:
This is a hybrid work position in Calgary, Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week.  This provides flexibility the remaining 40 of the work week.  This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues.  Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.

As a Specialist Procurement Analytics within the Procurement Team, you will support the Procurement team through in-depth analytics and reporting. You will utilize your data management skills in ERP systems to provide key insights and deliverables. Key responsibilities of the role will be to provide data-based insights and recommendations and solid reporting on Procurement measures such as Key Performance Indicators, total cost of ownership, savings, supplier performance, process & policy compliance, etc. This role requires close collaboration with Procurement, Finance, IT and other departments. As a Specialist, you will be required to manage multiple priorities, work in numerous systems and engage/collaborate on varied projects. Your commitment to high quality work products, ability to meet commitments and have an inquisitive mindset are fundamental to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing team with ongoing Spend Cube analytics, improving spend categorization based on category managers’ feedback, automating routine reports
  • Liaise with internal Strategic Procurement and SC  teams to gain comprehensive understanding of support requirements
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests on spend analysis and cost analysis
  • Align with Finance on account coding and classification
  • Complete and distribute recurring monthly reports and communications (BSC, Savings Reviews, Metrics)
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to optimize the spend analysis process in a Lean way
  • Support internal training and development program
  • Support preparation and delivery of materials for team engagement initiatives as required
  • Build ad hoc reports and dashboards to support various projects and programs
  • Provide troubleshooting support for data analytics users
  • Look for continuous improvement opportunities to automate data analytics and reporting within PowerBI etc
  • Support the annual budgeting cycle as required
  • Encourage data-driven decision making across the organization
Qualifications:
Procurement process knowledge
Minimum of 5 years data analytics experience
Excellent Microsoft Power Platform skills (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
Business, Data Intelligence platform experience
Excellent planning, problem solving and analytic skills
Project management skills
Team player able to work on multiple projects
Experience utilizing spend analytics to identify strategic procurement opportunities.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, IT or relevant business experience Systems expertise in JDE, SAP or other ERP platforms
Coupa experience an asset
Professional Skills:
Strong consultative, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills

Exceptional time management skill with a demonstrated ability to multi-task Critical thinking and ability to influence without direct authority

Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to work independent
