Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Wireless Network Engineer to join our network team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco wireless technologies, particularly Meraki and ISE, and possess a deep understanding of wireless networks for both monitoring and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust wireless network solutions, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability for both enterprise environments and end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wireless Network Design & Implementation:

  • Design, deploy, and configure enterprise-level wireless networks using Cisco Meraki and other Cisco wireless products.

  • Ensure seamless wireless coverage, security, and scalability across large and complex environments.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan and implement wireless solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.

• Wireless Network Monitoring:

  • Use monitoring tools and software (e.g., Meraki Dashboard, Cisco Prime, etc.) to proactively monitor the health and performance of wireless networks.

  • Continuously analyze wireless network performance, including signal strength, interference, bandwidth usage, and user access.

  • Perform regular audits and assessments of wireless networks to ensure compliance with best practices, security standards, and optimal performance.

• Wireless Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve complex wireless network issues, including connectivity problems, interference, and roaming issues.

  • Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to resolve wireless network incidents promptly.

  • Provide second and third-level technical support for wireless network-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal service performance.

• Integration with Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine):

  • Configure and manage Cisco ISE for network access control (NAC), policy enforcement, and guest networking.

  • Work on the integration of ISE with Meraki to provide secure, policy-driven network access for users and devices.

  • Ensure proper configuration of wireless security protocols (WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X, etc.) using ISE for authentication and authorization.

• Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and manage wireless security protocols, including encryption, authentication, and intrusion detection/prevention.

  • Ensure wireless networks meet industry standards and compliance requirements, performing vulnerability assessments and risk mitigation strategies.

• Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, wireless designs, troubleshooting steps, and network diagrams.

  • Provide regular reports on wireless network performance, incidents, and troubleshooting efforts to management.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with the latest wireless networking technologies and trends, providing recommendations for enhancements and optimizations.

  • Collaborate with the network engineering team to enhance and expand wireless capabilities as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in wireless network engineering and administration.

• Proven expertise in configuring and managing Cisco Meraki wireless solutions.

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), including NAC and wireless security protocols.

• Extensive experience with wireless troubleshooting tools and methodologies, including spectrum analysis, interference mitigation, and signal optimization.

• Strong understanding of wireless standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and technologies such as roaming, VLANs, QoS, and load balancing.

• Experience with wireless network monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, Meraki Dashboard, etc.).

• Familiarity with RF planning and site survey techniques for large-scale deployments.

Desirable Skills:

• Certification such as Cisco CCNA Wireless or Cisco CCNP Wireless is a plus.

• Experience with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and advanced wireless technologies.

• Strong knowledge of network security and experience implementing security best practices on wireless networks.

• Familiarity with cloud-managed network solutions like Cisco Meraki.
