How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The successful candidate serves as an Senior Engineer for Deltas Fleet Engineering team with a primary focus on Airbus Systems – A220, A320FAM, A330, and A350 fleets. Depending on applicant experience level, the position may also be filled as Grade 6 – Engineer. Position will undertake tasks including but not limited to: Providing aircraft engineering support to a variety of internal customers and outside suppliers to support Engineering solutions for long term safety/reliability/cost effectivenessReviewing, recommending, and implementing Airworthiness regulations or manufacturers service bulletins and other correspondence to affected fleetsReviewing data and recommending and implementing changes as required to improve aircraft reliabilitySupporting shop, hangar and line maintenance customers in accomplishing Engineering projectsMaintain compliance with applicable FAA regulations and Delta’s Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) by authoring, checking and approving Engineering documents. Maintain stakeholder engagement through leaving the office environment and going to hangar, line, shop, planning and other support groups to gain details necessary to develop/complete quality project.Supports development of internal engineering solutions; remove OEM dependence wherever possibleThis position reports to the Airbus Systems Engineering Manager.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Candidates for this position should have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3 yrs minimum relevant experience. Candidates will be considered for Grade 6 – Engineer with entry level experience.Previous airline, military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is strongly preferred. Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, FAR 121 dispatch regulations, computers and programming is desirable. Works under minimal direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. For internal candidates, must be performing satisfactorily in current position. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
