About the RoleAs a Systems Engineer, you will support critical aircraft modification programs within the Commercial Modifications Engineering team. Working alongside experienced engineers and program leaders, you will help drive technical solutions for avionics and Airframe, Performance & Systems (AP&S) initiatives. In this high-visibility role, you will contribute to improving aircraft performance, safety, and reliability while helping deliver world-class aerospace engineering solutions.

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Location: Long Beach, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday First Shift 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate Starting at : $56.65 per hour
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
What You’ll DoIn this dynamic engineering role, you will:
Lead cross-functional engineering efforts supporting Avionics or Airframe, Performance & Systems (AP&S) modifications
Identify technical risks, issues, and opportunities while developing mitigation and resolution strategies
Resolve complex engineering challenges by leading Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and collaborating with subject matter experts
Support certification efforts by coordinating with FAA and EASA appointed personnel
Work closely with Program Management to develop integrated project schedules and plans
Assess and respond to changes in project scope, evaluating impacts on deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules
Contribute to project proposal activities, including Statement of Work reviews and effort estimation
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce cost, and improve project flow
Monitor and track engineering performance metrics
Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited institution
5+ years of experience in an engineering role
Experience with avionics, cabin systems, electrical systems, structures, or systems engineering
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in the commercial aircraft modification environment
Experience leading technical teams or engineering projects
Knowledge of FAA certification requirements (14 CFR Part 25 Regulations)
Experience with FAA Airworthiness Directives
Familiarity with Organization Delegation Authorization (ODA) procedures
Advanced knowledge of engineering documents and manuals (BPM, BPI, AMM, CMM, Service Bulletins, etc.)
Experience supporting commercial aircraft platforms
Ability to present technical information to senior leadership
Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Ability to promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

Pay Details: $56.65 per hour
