JOB SUMMARY:
This is a 2026 summer internship in our Engineering department. The intern will will work on multiple cabinetry design improvement ideas and develop proposed solutions.
A few of the projects that will be worked include:
- Identify cabinet designs that have high risk burn failure build-ups and find a suitable substrate replacement.
- Research & propose a design for a new side stowing door mechanism to improve installation and quality.
- Research & propose a design to improve the junction at the F6X Fwd Lav/Galley header area to improve installation and reduce gap issues.
- Follow-up on previous project EWOs that need some testing on the aircraft.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- We will provide Catia V5 & VPM training so that the intern can research 3D designs for project solutions.
- Internet research for potential replacement parts
- Creation of Product Change Sheet (PCS) to present the new idea(s) to the facility for inputs
- Follow-up reviews of project progress (Initial, Mid-term, Final)
- Final presentation of all projects worked and status
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Skilled in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint & other standard Microsoft applications
- Good communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Willingness to interact with multiple departments inside & outside of design engineering
- Must be currently enroll in an accredited college or university and must reside in the United States.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical Engineering major preferred
COMPENSATION:
The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime.
