Job Description:

Description:WHO WE ARE

The ISA UAS division of Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works) is home to world‑class DevSecOps engineering talent and continues an 80‑year legacy of pioneering advanced aircraft. As part of the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Functional Domain, our team leads the implementation of DevSecOps practices that enable secure, reliable, and modern software delivery across cutting‑edge UAS platforms.

WHAT YOULL DO

You will design and implement secure, scalable Azure cloud platforms for mission‑critical systems. You’ll define cloud architecture patterns, guide infrastructure decisions, and ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and program requirements. You’ll partner with Cloud Infrastructure, Software Engineering, and Security teams to build cloud‑native architectures and align CI/CD pipelines with deployment strategies. While cloud‑focused, you’ll stay hands‑on with GitLab CI/CD to support automation and integration across Azure services. You’ll provide technical leadership by shaping IaC strategies, establishing reusable patterns, and enabling secure, repeatable deployments. You’ll also strengthen monitoring and observability by applying logs and metrics to improve reliability, security, and operational visibility.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

As a Staff DevSecOps Engineer, you will operate as a technical authority in cloud and DevSecOps engineering, shaping how Azure platforms are designed, deployed, and secured across programs. You will work at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and security, influencing technical decisions that impact multiple teams and systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and security leaders across the organization, helping define best practices while staying hands-on with modern cloud tooling. This role offers the opportunity to drive platform evolution, mentor engineers, and contribute to the long-term technical direction of cloud and DevSecOps capabilities supporting current and next-generation systems.

YOUR IMPACT

Your work will directly shape the cloud foundation that enables secure, scalable, and reliable delivery of mission-critical capabilities. By designing robust Azure architectures and guiding IaC and pipeline strategies, you will enable teams to deploy faster while maintaining strong security and compliance standards. You will play a key role in advancing cloud maturity across programs, improving reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Through your technical leadership and hands-on expertise, you will help build resilient platforms that accelerate innovation and support the evolving needs of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Azure cloud architectures, including networking, identity, compute, storage, and security services to support scalable and secure platforms

  • Define and enforce cloud standards, patterns, and best practices across Azure environments

  • Design and support CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevSecOps engineers, ensuring pipelines align with cloud architecture and deployment strategies (GitLab CI/CD)

  • Provide technical leadership on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy, including tooling selection, reference implementations, and reusable modules/templates

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex cloud, infrastructure, and deployment challenges

  • Mentor and guide engineers on cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and DevSecOps practices

  • Evaluate and recommend Azure services, tools, and technologies to improve platform reliability, scalability, and security

Travel up to 10 may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Experience designing, automating, and optimizing containerized CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and cloud‑integrated services

  • Experience working with containerized environments (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)

  • Experience with Python and scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell

  • Experience working with Linux‑based operating systems
