Responsibilities:
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and system diagrams to understand component interfaces and system functionality
- Perform system-level troubleshooting down to component level for electro-optic, laser, and experimental electronic systems
- Execute testing, checkout, and diagnostic activities using schematics, layouts, written instructions, and engineering plans
- Build, modify, and assemble prototype hardware, including experimental circuitry and electro-optic subsystems
- Lay out, calibrate, install, adjust, and maintain specialized laboratory and test equipment
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other technicians supporting engineering development activities
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Optics, Photonics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on technical experience supporting engineering development or prototype systems
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Experience with system troubleshooting to component level
- Knowledge of engineering specifications, requirements, standards, and technical practices
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience with fiber-optic communications systems
