Insitu has an immediate need for Software Test Engineering Specialist to join our Software Engineering team.  This role will be responsible for:

  • Developing project testing strategy, estimates, test plans, and test cases/procedures per project scope and release objectives.
  • Reviewing and approving software test documentation across multiple projects for technical accuracy/efficiency and completeness to include applicable specifications, designs, tools, techniques, methodologies, and risk mitigation actions.
  • Responsible for design and development of automated Software Test code.
  • Performing component, feature, application, exploratory and system level testing in both simulated and hardware environments to verify software system requirements, traceability, and testability.
  • Analyzes and reports verification activities and results against defined test plans, project objectives, and system testing activities.
  • Supporting root cause analysis efforts of incidents requiring corrective action.
  • Representing Software / Project during Safety Review Boards to verify Flight Safety Test coverage, quality, and flight readiness.
  • Identifying and championing continuous improvement initiatives to improve and evolve software test processes, tools, and capabilities.
  • Providing mentoring to other software department staff.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Technical bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years related work experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 or more years; OR comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical prose.

This role is onsite in Hood River, OR must be able to work 100 onsite.
