What you’ll be doing as a Quality Engineer Specialist
The Quality Engineer Specialist performs multi-faceted Quality department and program QE assignments across military and commercial programs, requiring interactions with Supplier Quality Assurance, enterprise factories and facilities, and various engineering and other departments. The Quality Engineer Specialist will support cross functional teams in preventive, corrective, and continuous improvement projects that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
· Perform Quality Management System, AS9100 System auditing, manufacturing process reviews, root cause and corrective action analysis, process and procedure development and revisions, data analysis and metrics reporting, containing quality issues from becoming quality escapes, communicating highly technical quality issues with program engineering, management, and regulatory and customer representatives.
· Serve as the primary Quality point of contact for actions to resolve quality issues with suppliers, manufacturing centers, and assembly centers for assigned programs.
· Lead Quality Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams in corrective action and continuous improvement to enhance quality performance and compliance to aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, engineering requirements, policies, and procedures.
· Initiates and manage teams in the development of new and revision of existing policies and procedures.
· Interface with Supplier Quality Assurance to collaborate and facilitate supplier quality issue resolution.
· Coordinate quality and process engineering teams in the performance of QMS and manufacturing process reviews and audits.
· Train junior quality engineers, to include with Lean Six Sigma processes and tools for root cause corrective in response to quality or compliance issues.
· Support and advise the Quality Culture and Compliance team in their planning and execution of compliance activities.
· Participate in Contract Data Requirements List development, review and delivery to the customer as required by the assigned project(s).
· Assist with performing or facilitating material testing/analysis evaluations on special projects.
· Assist in developing fabrication/build processes inspection standards.
· Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) for quality nonconformances for disposition activities.
· Interface with internal/external organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions, exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills
· Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all interfacing functions.
