More about the role:As a QA Test Engineer, you’ll be involved throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring quality from requirements through to release. You’ll focus on manual testing while also contributing to the development and evolution of our automated testing capabilities.You’ll work closely with developers, product owners and other stakeholders, using a pragmatic approach to achieve sign‑off without compromising stability or requirements. You’ll also bring curiosity and critical thinking to exploratory testing, looking beyond the minimum acceptance criteria to consider usability, workflows and wider product impact.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work as part of a cross‑functional engineering team to ensure quality from requirements to release.
  • Analyse user stories, engage with stakeholders and create comprehensive, repeatable test plans and test cases.
  • Perform manual test execution, discussing findings with developers and product owners — and challenging where requirements aren’t met.
  • Conduct exploratory testing that considers business workflows, usability and interactions with other features.
  • Create additional test plans and cases to ensure suitable coverage beyond the initial story.
  • Produce clear documentation to demystify complex areas of the test framework.
  • Contribute to the ongoing drive toward appropriate test automation.
  • Support predictable delivery of high‑quality releases.
  • Help define acceptance criteria during refinements.
  • Represent QA within the team and act as a point of contact for QA‑related queries.
  • Identify opportunities to reuse test cases across the wider product suite.
  • Assist in the bug management lifecycle.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:-    Essential:
  • Experience as a Manual Test Engineer in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts, processes, levels, methods and types.
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases and documentation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Ability to analyse user stories and engage with stakeholders to ensure clarity and coverage.
  • Strong manual test execution skills
  • Ability to perform exploratory testing beyond minimum specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to prioritise issues and write clear tickets.
-    Desirable:
  • Experience testing API endpoints (e.g., Postman).
  • Experience with automated UI testing frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, Playwright).
  • Basic proficiency in JavaScript, C or Java.
  • Basic SQL skills for data extraction.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (especially Azure).
  • ISTQB Foundation certification.
