Procurement Engineer; 6 month contract; based at Samlesbury; 37 hours; 22.15 per hour.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Engineer to support BAE Systems within their Air Sector at the Samlesbury site. This role is working in a busy team of 10 and is a hybrid role (working Tues/Weds/Thurs in the office).
Key tasks;
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, manage supplier performance and improvement activities.
- Manage the order book, including raising orders, resolving queries, maintaining forecast dates
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers.
- Working closely with other functions across the business to manage the order book.
Typical duties include;
- Purchase Order Management
- Relationship Management with the Supplier and Internal Stakeholders
- Ensuring the Supplier delivers to their commitments by regular communication.
- Finance and Purchase Order Payment management
- Leading Supplier Reviews as required.
- Supporting Customer Reviews as required
Knowledge:
- Procurement experience is essential.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and reporting toolsets (Desirable)
Skills:
Essential:
- Ability to pick and learn IT systems quickly (Essential)
- Good communication skills to provide effective stakeholder management (Essential)
- High level of Microsoft office skills with a focus on Excel (Essential)
Qualifications:
- CIPS (Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply Chain) qualified or working towards (Desirable)
