Role Overview:
Analyze and eliminate root causes of defects in engine disassembly, assembly, and test using structured problem solving.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to fix defects and prevent recurrence.
Partner with quality and production teams through daily standups and tiered escalation to resolve issues quickly and sustain gains.
Maintain clear, revision-controlled documentation (work instructions, control plans, checklists, SOPs) and feed lessons learned back into standard work.
Resolve issues using established procedures; escalate to OEM/senior engineers for items outside defined instructions or parameters.
Share and verify technical information; ask clarifying questions and confirm understanding.
Support standard work confirmation, tooling validation, and compliance with approved technical manuals, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures.
Contribute to operational readiness, performance reviews, and data-driven problem solving in a controlled cell environment.
Required to support the new shop (Sepang), including ramp-up activities.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role is an adaptable and creative engineer with at least 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry. They should possess strong analytical skills to effectively identify and resolve engine defects during disassembly and assembly processes. The candidate must collaborate well with quality and production teams, maintaining comprehensive documentation, willing to occasionally work night shifts and support new shop setups.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering/Operations Management or other related technical fields.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Engineering (within the aerospace industry is preferred).
Computer literacy is essential to the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels including leadership, regulatory authorities, and customers.
Able to rapidly assimilate information and make fact-based decisions; demonstrated strength in problem analysis and resolution.
Proven ability to document, plan, and execute programs with established project management skills (scope, schedule, risk, stakeholder management).
Capable of providing technical and quality guidance to Quality team members and cross-functional partners.
Able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities with minimal supervision.
