BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for System Integration efforts in support of our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The ideal candidate will be someone who can independently develop system verification strategy, demonstrate the behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across organizational boundaries to deliver positive results. This role is fit for someone who can be a highly engaging, team-oriented, problem solving, and self-starting individual able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment.

As a Principal Systems Engineer for System Integration, your responsibilities span engineering technical authority and customer relationship management including:

Engineering Technical Authority

Develop and define a System Integration strategy and approach for a new weapon system. Lead and/or engage with Integration Integrated Product Teams (IPT) / Working Groups / Communities of Practice
Develop and execute independent Integration activities based on subsystem interface integration methods and generate design maturity, compatibility, and interoperability reports.
Define and develop System Integration technical work products
Ensure engineering outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met
Develop and present technical documentation, data, presentations, and white paper submissions to chief engineers for approval and then to the customers

Customer Relationship Management

Establish and maintain exceptional relationships with SES, GS-15, and GS-14 level US Navy customers/clients to solve technical problems and implement solutions of extremely high complexity.
Support the customer in the execution of the Systems Integration process including Systems Engineering Technical Reviews.
Works closely with the customer to translate objectives into actionable plans and measurable deliverables.

Job Requirements:

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education required:

Bachelor of Science degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Additional skills/experience required:

8 years’ experience supporting systems engineering on large DoD programs
Experience with major weapon system development product lifecycle and technologies
Experience with integration of models, software, and / or hardware
Experience working systems engineering projects involving multiple systems engineering teams
Experience with presenting project status to management and/or the client
Experience in organizing and hosting meetings involving multiple stakeholders
Willing to travel approximately 10% of the time
Must possess strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

MS Degree in Systems Engineering or related field
Demonstrated experience in a Systems Engineering field preferably supporting Integration related efforts.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams in complex systems engineering across the product development lifecycle.
Experience with technical presentations and customer-facing activities at the leadership level.
Demonstrated success partnering with customers to understand critical challenges, shape customer requirements, develop innovative solutions, and manage execution of solutions through implementation
Experience with various engineering tools / languages including PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, 2D/3D CAD, SysML, Cameo, and/or MATLAB Simulink
10 years’ experience supporting systems engineering on large DoD programs
Experience with the Navy SSP or TRIDENT programs
ASEP or CSEP certification

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
