We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Field Engineer in support of the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) Program located at Robins AFB in the Warner Robins, GA area.
What You’ll Get to Do:
This is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise across the engineering spectrum while working with a multi-disciplinary team that operates and maintains complex tactical communication systems. Youll also get to:
Serve as the on-site Technical Support during operations and maintenance of a complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication system
Work closely with an Active Duty/Government customer as well as internal Northrop Grumman Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Prepare to learn and excel on a small multidisciplinary team responsible for troubleshooting a wide array of military voice and data services
Support flight line by performing preflight system tests and configuring payloads
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HW/SW system components
Troubleshoot Hardware/Software issues
Administer equipment and environments which include Linux servers/clients, Windows 10, network-attached storage devices and Linux virtual machines
Perform Communication Security (COMSEC) Key Management
Use engineering drawings for troubleshooting and system analysis
Travel up to 15
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in Science with 3 years of relevant experience; Or 9 years of experience may be considered in Lieu of Degree
Must have a CompTIA Security+ certification
Experience with operating Military radios or communications systems
Experience handling COMSEC materials, following security guidance/procedures, and operating the Simple Key Loader (SKL)
General knowledge of Linux
General knowledge of networking fundamentals (Routers, Switches, Firewalls)
Experience working with cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues
Must be willing and able to lift up-to 50 pounds and carry boxes, equipment, etc as part of the warehousing and inventory control duties
US citizenship and a current/active DoD Secret security clearance are required
Preferred Qualification:
DoD 8570 IAT Level II or greater (CompTIA Security+ and a Computing Environment (CE) certification (CCNA, CCNP or CompTIA Linux +)
Hands-on experience with Linux Administration
Hands-on experience with networking devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
Hands-on experience with operating; PRC-117, ARC-210, SADL, MIDS JTRS radios
Broad experience with the operation, configuration, and maintenance of military communications systems and radios
Strong knowledge with the following: military tactical data links (Link 16, JREAP-C), radios operations (load, program, and troubleshoot), and RF theory
Experience with military aircraft operations
Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
