DescriptionJob overview and responsibilities
The Principal Engineer – Integration Platforms leverages technical expertise in the area of Container and SOA technologies to strengthen the reliability, efficiency, and performance of the enterprise. This role requires deep knowledge of middleware platforms combined with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Execution against the IT Operations strategy & roadmap
• Contribute toward creating, maintaining, and marketing the architectural vision and direction for Information Technology
• Understand and provide recommendations for improvement and usage of Middleware strategies by leveraging existing IT capabilities, identifying improvements to existing IT capabilities and define new strategic IT capabilities
• Stay abreast of business strategy, goals, objectives and operational performance
• Be a Thought Partner, i.e. engaged with Applications Developers/Business
• Monitor industry trends and anticipates future direction for system platforms
• Lead in providing consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming
• Implements multiple complex releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment
• Oversees and sets platform performance and availability improvements measures based on metric analysis
• Duties may include leading highly complex capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/administration, and diagnostics
• Implements reliable solutions that maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure as well as meet the customer objectives
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for middleware components and containerized applications
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for critical middleware platform issues
• Define and enforce security standards, compliance requirements, and best practices for middleware platforms
• Ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters
• Assesses existing procedures to ensure requirements continue to be met
• Makes necessary improvements to procedures that are not effective
• Develops documentation to support the infrastructure and as a guide for establishing common practices across the enterprise
• Works effectively in a team fashion to establish alignments with IT peers across the corporation
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operational overhead and improve deployment efficiency
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and development teams on middleware best practices
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
• Bachelors degree
• Information Technology or relevant field referred
• 7+ years of relevant IT experience
• 5+ years years of experience in MessagingSolution such as Solace & IBM MQ.
• Solid experience Messaging & Eventing platforms
• Experience with CICD tools like Jenkins/Harness
• Experience setting up EKS cluster and Solace Brokers
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
• Masters degree
• 3+ years of experience in, TIBCO EMS & Apache Kafka
• 2+ years of experience in IBM ACE
• 2+ years of airline business experience
• Experience with foundational AWS Services
• Experience in IBM MQ & IBM ACE Technologies
The base pay range for this role is $140,600.00 to $183,108.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
