Air New Zealands Engineering and Maintenance group is known around the world for delivery of world-class Aircraft Maintenance services to ensure the safety and continued airworthiness of our modern fleet of jet and turboprop aircraft.
We are seeking expressions of interest for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering roles in a variety of specialisations. These are full-time positions (40 hours per week).
About the roles:
Air New Zealand Engineering & Maintenance is a major supplier of aircraft and component maintenance, repair and overhaul services with customers in New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the Americas and Europe. We support A320/321, ATR, Q300, B777 and B787 aircraft, so experience on these types is preferred.
Preference will be given to applicants who hold a valid CAANZ/CASA/EASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence and/or are aircraft type rated.
Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Either working at our Line Maintenance locations in New Zealand or in a team in our hangar performing maintenance activity ranging from aircraft transits up to heavy maintenance checks. You will be responsible for conducting maintenance work for our fleet of aircraft including servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and rectifying defects per approved procedures to ensure the safety of our passengers and the on-time performance of our fleet.
This role will suit you if you enjoy providing a high level of customer service and enjoy developing and maintaining relationships with all types of people. Youll have strong skills in aircraft maintenance, at least 3 years experience, a valid aircraft maintenance engineer licence, and the ability to work autonomously and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical and Avionic)
Our one-stop facilities provide maintenance of the airlines fleets and also offer experienced technical design services for wide-body, narrowbody and regional aircraft in the civil and defence spanets. Licensed manufacture or rebuild of some specialised aircraft composite and high-strength metal parts is also available.
- You will have at least three years’ work experience
- Completed either an aviation apprenticeship, aviation traineeship, aviation military training, or aeronautical training
- You will have strong skills in Mechanical or Avionic aircraft engineering from your training and/or work experience, and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- You will be able to look for improvement opportunities and help implement them, work in both team and individual environments with the aim to deliver safe on time performance.
Aircraft Technician
If you are interested in working in the aircraft maintenance industry and do not currently have the required qualifications for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, there may be an option for you.
We are seeking tradespeople from allied trades e.g. painter, sheet metal worker, boat builder, and other mechanical and electrical trades who have the right attitude, aspiration, and ability to cross train and gain the skills and competencies necessary to be recognised as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. To be consider for a role as an Aircraft Technician, as a minimum you must hold:
- At least three years’ work experience
- A National (New Zealand) Certificate in Engineering (Trade) Level 4, or;
- Hold a Trade Certificate (or NZQA recognised equivalent) in an applicable trade relevant to the area of employment, or;
- An allied apprenticeship but may not hold a trade certificate (pre NCEA).
