Job Description:
The Lead Engineer – ADNB Frame Design will report to the Fan Mechanical Design Manager for Advanced Commercial Programs in Cincinnati, OH. This role will impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of GE Aerospace’s Advanced Fan Design Team and will have input into the teams priorities. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring operational judgment. Probable role responsibilities include the design of fan hardware, engagement in frame casting manufacturing process, and leadership of design review and engineering processes through delivery of hardware for engine demonstrators.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills. Provides guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 3 additional years of experience in a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering position.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in hardware design and engineering drawings.
  • Experience in cold frame design and manufacture.
  • Experience with casting manufacturing processes and vendors.
  • Experience in Class-L hardware processes and delivery from design engineering position.
  • Experience in computer-aided design and stress analysis software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Self-starter with an eye constantly on problem solving and driving solutions.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
