Interior Design and Structural Integration Engineer II (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineer II is primarily responsible for modeling and drafting new or modified designs thatmeet FAA certification and company requirements, in addition to providing limited technicalguidance and peer review of design data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Provide technical and creative guidance regarding the creation of new and modified designs thatare complementary of the overall interior style, minimize weight and cost, and comply with allapplicable regulatory requirement

- Participate in developing original concepts for new interiors as well as re-designed existinginteriors

- Design interior details, assemblies, and installations including cabin side panels, tables,overheads, carpeting and padding, cabin insulation, consoles, instrument panels, glare shields,stowage compartments, placards, bezels, seats, etc.

- Produce conceptual layout, installation, assembly, and detail drawings using NX and Teamcenter

- Review and check models, drawings, reports, coordination memos of fellow Interior DesignEngineers to verify they are accurate, producible, and consistent with project requirements.

- Compose Engineering Orders (EO) to revise design, or incorporate changes/modifications toexisting three dimensional models and drawings utilizing Siemens NX

- Interact with outside suppliers for the purpose of hardware, fastener, and material selection whilemaximizing the usage of existing off-the-shelf components wherever practical

- Coordinate design work with Structural Design, Structural Analysis, Sales/Marketing,Manufacturing, Supply Management, and other teams

- Support Production and Customer Support in the troubleshooting of assembly, installation, andoperational challenges

- Some project management required including project scope creation and recommendations,progress tracking, and completion estimations

- Perform other related duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May be required to train and assist other employees,effectively partnering and collaborating on department and cross-functional organizationalinitiatives.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functionsatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/orability required.

Education and Experience

- Requires Bachelor degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or aerospace

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position. General aviation relatedexperience in design required, preferably in aerospace or aircraft manufacturing environment

- General knowledge of all phases of aircraft design, testing, approval, manufacturing, inspectionand service, materials and material strengths, manufacturing processes and techniques relative tofabrication and assembly, working knowledge of Siemens NX, and familiarity with FAR 23 andcertification are required to perform the duties of this position

- Working knowledge of Windows based computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Travel and overtime are required when necessary
