Job Description:

SUMMARY

Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts. Sets and evaluates time standards. Conduct studies for cost and inventory controls and programs for efficient use of resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Conducts cost studies and analyses.
  • Develops labor standards for in house make parts.
  • Develops part routings and maintains current part routing in the MRP system.
  • Works in a cross functional group along with finance to ensure proper reporting of labor hours both actual and proposed.
  • Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.
  • Project manpower requirements and budgets.
  • Coordinates and implements work packages which targets performance, cost and schedule data.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the reporting and presentation of performance metrics.
  • Assists in the development of project and production schedules.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering on the integration of Engineering Orders, planning and Bill of Material Changes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate are required.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Access to Export Control Information.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B. S.) from four-year College or University in Engineering and 2 - 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Prefer degree in industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
