The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking a highly motivated Equipment & Tool Engineer to join our growing team and expanding facilities in Smithfield, PA; to support AvionX work across all business units (BDS, BCA & BGS).

Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionic functions. We have set our sights high – to design, develop, and manufacture the most technically advanced and reliable avionic components in the world. We are innovating and developing new products to address the future of the urban air mobility as well as our next generation of commercial, tactical, and trainer aircraft spanets, weapons and others.
Who You Are
As an experienced Equipment Engineer with strong technical knowledge/ background in the performance and reliability of electro-mechanical systems (aerospace manufacturing test equipment), you will lead the research, development, evaluation and integration of robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products. You will perform periodical preventative and software maintenance, predictive failure analysis and process optimization to improve equipment efficiency (troubleshooting test assets), reliability and productivity.
Other tasks
Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling. Investigates engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures. Estimates, plans, manages and executes the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling
Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures, equipment, fixtures and tooling. Develops data processing tools and algorithms. Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve compliance with test equipment requirements.
Formulates expectations for test data based on historical information. Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity. Interfaces with other members of project or program, management, and technical staff to define and implement test engineering solutions.
Position Responsibilities
Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements to ensure that all test equipment operates efficiently and reliably, minimizing disruptions and financial impacts of equipment failure
Performs periodical Preventative Maintenance (PM), tool calibration (for testing and production), Software Maintenance and troubleshoots test assets as required
Reviews performance data/feedback to resolve issues related to product defects, equipment downtime, test process inefficiencies; and implements corrective actions to improve/eliminate defects
Performs test equipment maintenance, installation, commissioning and updates
Maintains records of equipment performance, maintenance activities and upgrades
Trains others and works under some to minimal direction
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Smithfield, PA facility

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
3 plus years of relevant experience required with performs periodical Preventative Maintenance (PM), tool calibration (for testing and production), Software Maintenance and troubleshoots test assets as required
Experienced in implementation of preventative/corrective maintenance and systems
Experience with operations, maintenance repairs of industrial equipment

Summary Pay Range Mid-Level: $103,700 - $140,300
Summary Pay Range Senior: $126,650 - $171,350
