This role provides the perfect blend of product design and product analysis, requiring a candidate with strong initiative, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

As an Engineering Drawing Checker, you will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of designs. In your role as a designer/drafter, you’ll work closely with engineering staff to create 3D models and 2D layout drawings that meet both engineering specifications and customer requirements. You’ll also play a crucial part in analyzing designs by conducting tolerance stack-ups, fit checks, and ensuring the creation of source control drawings that precisely define the engineering intent.

Your expertise in industry specifications, along with your knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), will be key in ensuring that all drawings are thorough and complete. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills across both design and analysis while being part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team. If youre ready to take on a role that challenges your abilities and helps shape cutting-edge aerospace products, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Do

  • Review engineering changes (EC), including models and drawings, to ensure accuracy.
  • Verify electrical harness routings by creating concept items in NX and comparing them to supplier interface definitions and drawings.
  • Ensure the accuracy of clearance envelopes, assembly removal studies, and fit checks for correct fit and alignment on the engine, as well as the performance of complex assembly drawings in relation to customer models.
  • Review 3D product models, outlines, and layouts for consistency and quality.
  • Create solid model piece parts and wiring harnesses in NX.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis to support product failure investigations.
  • Create assemblies in NX and manage the review of the Bill of Materials.
  • Preferred background in Pratt and Whitney Engine Programs with experience in validating mechanical interface requirements.
  • Support engineering, drafting, and design standard work policy and procedure initiatives.
  • Manage interface design and definition requirements for both production and development projects.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including MS SharePoint

  • Experience with systems interface and fit checks
  • Ability to ensure proper filing, control, and export classification
