Purpose:

The CI Engineering Co-Op will work with CI Engineers and Operations personnel on company initiatives for productivity improvements and cost reductions through evaluation of existing and proposed processes by identifying and eliminating waste; implementing action plans that increase throughput, and efficiencies in our business units. This would be a 6 month Co-Op term starting in July 2025 and running through December 2025.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Kaizen style events with production teams.
  • Support CI leadership in the organization, executing assigned projects, populating pipeline metrics, and promoting programs that drive productivity improvements.
  • Work with the direct labor workforce to identify opportunities.
  • Assist in maintaining team-based Visual communication boards and systems to help groups monitor and track performance.
  • Analyze requirements and make recommendations for facility systems, processes, training, equipment needs, and engineering product designs
  • Work cross-functionally to contain and eliminate process issues.
  • Update Work Instruction and ISO documentation to ensure visual aids are used to provide employees with processes that minimize variability while maximizing quality and throughput.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience in a relevant Engineering discipline is desired.
  • Strong computer skills (CAD, Excel, MS Office).
  • Familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing processes including machining, injection molded plastic parts, electromechanical assembly, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, and testing.
  • Ability to routinely work in a hands-on manner.
  • Self-starter and ability to work with limited supervision.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20.00 to $22.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
