The Opportunity -
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
BDA is looking for DevOps Software Engineerswho will join the Engineering Strategy & Ops team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce.
In this position you will build and maintain a cutting-edge global enterprise software development environment using cloud computing technologies.
As a DevOps Software Engineerat BDA, your technical background will be crucial to your success in this role.
This role can be based in Brisbane, Adelaide or Williamtown.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploy and manage infrastructure on AWS, including services such as EKS and RDS.
- Utilize GitLab CI to create and maintain pipelines for deploying Kubernetes applications.
- Automate the installation and management of Kubernetes applications using tools such as Helm, Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
- Deploy applications to Kubernetes clusters using Helm.
- Manage and maintain DevOps tools and applications, including GitLab, Artifactory, and others.
- Write, test, and maintain high-quality code that meets specified requirements while ensuring security needs.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues or bugs within the codebase and applications.
- Create and maintain documentation for the codebase, applications, and processes to ensure clarity and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with other team members and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate your knowledge and experience in the key technical and behavioural competencies outlined below.
The most desirable experience includes:
- Two (2) or more years previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience in managing Kubernetes applications and using tools such as Helm, Terraform, Ansible and Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain concepts to a diverse audience.
- Experience administrating cloud infrastructure services such as AWS.
- Experience installing and configuring DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines similar to Gitlab.
- Familiarity with Linux and docker environments.
