Deputy Duty Engineer - SEN
As a Deputy Duty Engineer, you will play a key role in easyJet’s Line Maintenance team, supporting the Duty Engineer in overseeing operational and planned maintenance activities. When needed, you will step in to ensure smooth operations and deliver a top-tier maintenance service that upholds the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. With safety as easyJets top priority, you will ensure that all in-house maintenance activities meet regulatory requirements and align with easyJet’s leading safety and technical standards.
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you will deputise for the Duty Engineer during leave periods or as needed, supporting team management to drive performance and engagement. You will use your license/approval to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, recording and issuing certificates of release for completed work according to company and customer standards. You’ll review work and resources, advise the Duty Engineer on any potential service disruptions, set task priorities, complete documentation, inspect replacement parts, and maintain quality standards when supervising others. Additional responsibilities include compiling delay reports, maintaining equipment and facilities, assisting with departures, taking shift handovers, and ensuring all tasks and deferred defects are documented and carried forward as needed.
What you’ll need to do the role:
The ideal candidate will have relevant operational experience in an engineering and maintenance environment, with supervisory skills preferred. Holding an EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 license (or equivalent) with company aircraft authorisation is essential, along with up-to-date knowledge of airworthiness legislation. A minimum of 5 years of line maintenance experience is preferred. Strong communication skills, a high degree of customer focus, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team at all levels are crucial. Flexibility to meet deadlines, adaptability to operational changes, and a commitment to continuous improvement are highly valued. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation and demonstrate IT proficiency.
