Role title
Continuing Airworthiness Engineer
Your role
To ensure the continuing airworthiness of the Aer Lingus UK Ltd (EUK) fleet is maintained by overseeing the CAMO services provided by the Aer Lingus Engineering Department. Providing management and oversight of the continuing airworthiness activities contracted and sub-contracted to the Aer Lingus M&E department and contracted to third party Part 145 Maintenance & Repair Organisations (MRO’s).
- Ensure EUK fleet as defined on the AOC certificate remains in compliance with all relevant continuing airworthiness and operational mandates from the UK CAA and other regulatory bodies as applicable.
- The preparation and submission of technical reports as requested by the Head of Airworthiness.
- Maintain their responsibilities in accordance with the CAME and regulatory requirements, coordinating all changes with the Head of Airworthiness.
- Liaison with any operationally relevant external entities to ensure optimum operational performance of the airline fleet.
- Monitoring the maintenance forecast to ensure maintenance frequencies are not exceeded.
- Defect lifecycles are monitored and controlled.
- Ensuring work packages produced for EUK by the sub-contracted continuing airworthiness management organisation accurately reflect the required scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements.
- Confirming that aircraft downtime necessary for maintenance is provided by airline operations.
- Undertake specific activity and projects to support the development of CAMO.A.125(d)(3) activity within the IMS.
- Timely closure of non-conformances from the compliance monitoring system, and actions from the Safety Action Group (SAG) and Safety Review Board (SRB).
Your qualifications and key criteria
To be considered for the role of Continuing Airworthiness Engineer, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Good working knowledge of AMOS and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- EASA Part 66, Engineering Degree, or relevant OEM/Industry training
- 1-year relevant work experience from the aeronautical industry.
- Knowledge of Airbus Technical Documentation.
- Experience in writing technical work instructions and technical reports.
- Experience in interpreting Manufacturers Publications.
- General familiarisation course on the type(s) of A/C operated.
- Adequate knowledge of the design information and aircraft configuration (type specification, customer options, airworthiness directives (ADs), airworthiness limitations contained in the aircraft ICA, modifications, repairs, operational and emergency equipment) and of the required and performed maintenance.
- Demonstrable competency in
- UK CAA Part CAMO and Part T regulation.
- Management System principles.
- Just Culture.
