The Opportunity -
In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
BDA is looking for a CH-47 Chinook Senior Technical Officer who will join the Chinook Engineering team. In this role you will provide sustainment support to the Australian Army CH-47F fleet.
This role is based at Gallipoli Barracks, Brisbane.
As a Senior Technical Officer within BDA, you will
- Sustain the CH-47F weapon system alongside the Australian Army and other support personnel.
- Assess technical information and design packages for applicability to the CH-47 weapon system and provide recommendations for action strategies for implementation including scoping and planning.
- Research and contribute to the development of technical engineering reports, briefs, presentations and documentation.
- Apply technical engineering knowledge and experience to research and define issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop technical instructions such as those relating to issue of Special Technical Instructions, Modifications and Deviations.
- Share SME aviation experience and perspectives through positive relationships with team members.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant aircraft Trade Experience.
- Prior aviation experience under the DASR or equivalent civil aviation regulations
- Experience in aircraft sustainment engineering and technical support
- The ability to develop, analyse and interpret engineering and technical data.
Desirable:
- CH-47 Systems Managers (SYSMAN) Course or CH-47 type experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Defence information systems EMERALD, Objective, CAMM2 and NetMAARS or the ability to adapt to new information systems.
- Advanced Diploma of Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience working in a SPO (Systems Program Office).
- Experience with other weapon systems.
- Experience in a Program Support Office like environment.
