Advanced Software Engineer

Contract Position
Advanced Software Engineer job in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this job you will support the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You will be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, integrate and configure software applications and components
- Diagnose and debug issues in existing code
- Collaborate across functional teams to resolve issues and recommend solutions to ensure the software and system meet requirements of performance needed for deployment
- Document software development including test plans, design documentation, and design requirements
- Compile and assess user feedback to improve software performance
- Participate in technical architecture decisions for complex products
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance
- Bachelor degree in STEM and 5+ years of experience or Masters degree and 3+ years of experience
- Proficiency with one/more of the following:
- C/C++
- Object Oriented Development
- National Instruments Lab Windows/CVI software/MATLAB/Coder/Compiler/MEX
- Windows/Visual Studio
- SQL/SQL Server or like relational database experience.
- Significant level of Windows application development architecture expertise (Win32 apps, WPF apps, WinUI 3 apps).
- Deep understanding of software design patterns such as MVVM, MVP
- Windows kernel level debugging and diagnostics experience using tools such as Windows DDK or WinDBG or equivalent
- Strong experience developing, testing and debugging software for Windows OS using Visual Studio IDE and Windows SDK.
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Windows Low Level Systems development and API.
- Experience with DevOps concepts such as:
- Implementing Version Control and standing up branching strategies.
- Automating processes for build, test, and deploy.
- Applied experience with agile/lean principles in software development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency utilizing basic lab equipment like Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Spectrum Analyzers, and other test equipment
- Proficiency with different communication protocols like GPIB, RS232, SPI, etc
- Experience interfacing and integrating hardware devices, control, sim/stim, data acquisition, specifically with National Instruments Hardware like PXI, CRIO, CDAQ
