GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • Performs testing, diagnosing, and repairing (to the Level II and miniature electronic repair level) of aircraft electronic components/avionics equipment in accordance with the maintenance support requirements. Enters maintenance documentation in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs).

DUTIES
Must have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability:

  • The ETATE shall have a demonstrated working knowledge and skill in:
  • a. Testing, diagnosing, and level II repairing of avionics/electronics equipment and aircraft electronic components tracking, maintenance, testing, repair, and handling.
  • b. Level II multi-layer board miniature repair.
  • c. ANSI/J-STD-001B (Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
  • The ETATE shall be a graduate from a two (2) year Electronics Technician resident course at an accredited institute, or have completed significant factory or military formal electronics training (i.e., 3 (three) years military aircraft electronics maintenance with emphasis in avionics maintenance/repair).
  • The ETATE shall have a minimum of two (2) years experience in Navy/USMC aviation electronics maintenance and Aviation Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector to the level of effort and complexity of requirements in this SOW. This experience shall be exclusive of formalized training time. Examples of acceptable experience: Navy Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) enlisted (i.e., E-5 through E-7) or USMC equivalent; NECs AT-6689 HTS Advanced IMA Technician and 9527 Miniature Electronic Repair Technician and/or 9526 Micro-miniature Electronic Repair Technician).
  • The ETATE must be capable of a SECRET security clearance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a graduate of a two (2) year Electronics Technician resident course at an accredited institute, or have completed significant factory or military formal electronics training.
  • Must have at least two (2) years experience in Navy/USMC aviation electronics maintenance.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. The Secret Clearance process will include requesting a credit history.
  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
