Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to provide electrical installation and maintenance services for a variety of research test facilities operating at a broad range of voltages. The role requires working from detailed electrical schematics and prints, bending electrical conduit, pulling various gauge wiring, installing and modifying electrical panels, raceways, enclosures, motor-driven equipment, and other electrical hardware and devices. Future training may be required to obtain qualified operator status within a test facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations and maintenance services at various voltages.
- Work from detailed electrical schematics and prints.
- Bend electrical conduit and pull large and small gauge wiring.
- Install and modify electrical panels, raceways, and enclosures.
- Work with motor-driven equipment, including motor meggering.
- Install and maintain lighting systems and other associated electrical hardware and devices.
- Obtain qualified operator status within a test facility through future training.
Essential Skills- Journeyman certification or 5+ years of electrician experience.
- Proficiency with electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
- Experience with AC/DC motors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in voltage distribution and regulation.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices.
- Familiarity with high voltage systems.

Work Environment
The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in aeronautics, space power, and propulsion test facilities. During testing periods (4 to 6 times per year), candidates must be open to working off-shifts, including second and third shifts. Shift differentials are 7.5 for second shift and 10 for third shift. Notice will be provided in advance for scheduling adjustments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.12 - $36.12/hr.
