Job Description:

APA is seeking a skilled and motivated Avionics Technician to join our dynamic team in Jacksonville, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of avionics systems on various types of aircraft. This role requires a keen understanding of complex avionics systems, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems, including communications, navigation, and flight control systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair avionics malfunctions using electrical test equipment and wiring diagrams.
Install, modify, and upgrade avionics equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable aviation regulations and standards.
Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure the proper functioning of avionics systems.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely and efficient resolution of avionics-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including logs, reports, and certifications.
Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, company policies, and FAA regulations.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians when necessary.

Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with aircraft avionics systems on heavy commercial aircraft and/or regional jets. May be willing to consider military aircraft experience.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in avionics or related fields preferred.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) preferred.
In-depth knowledge of avionics systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to use electronic and electrical testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
Strong understanding of FAA regulations and safety standards applicable to avionics systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively document and communicate technical issues.
