Job Description

We are seeking experienced Electronics Technicians (Test) to support a maintenance program in Lake Charles, LA. The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform. The aircraft is utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out"). **These positions may be hired for the 1st or 2nd shift on either A or B shift. (Mon-Thurs or Thurs-Sun). Must be flexible for any.** Your duties include: * Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers manuals or similar documents, such as determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. * Understand the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in tasks such as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments like high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. * Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical system components in accordance with testing, engineering, maintenance, and installation directives. * Perform aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing tasks. * Determine the sequence for installing, removing, maintaining, repairing, or fabricating critical aircraft components, or electrical/electronic, mechanical, or instrumentation systems. * Perform testing, rework, and repair in various fields of specialization. * Apply shop theory and skills in accomplishing assigned tasks, working from incomplete engineering, electronic data, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, technical orders, and written and verbal instructions. * Work from blueprints, engineering orders, schematics, repair manuals, and other technical documents on aircraft electrical/electronic, mechanical, plumbing, and hydraulics, power plant, structures, or instrumentation systems. * Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain various types of complex aircraft equipment, components, devices, or systems. * Notify lead personnel or supervision of any malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material, and product. * Work in other fields incidental to, and in connection with, the completion of the assignment. * Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness. * Work may be reviewed by a supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. * Perform electrical modifications, routing, cannon plugs, terminating, ring outs, wire routing, install fiber optic cabling, inner rack cabling, removing existing wiring runs, proper routing, clamping, termination, and ring outs. * True modifications experience for electrical modifications. * Experience with cannon plugs is a huge plus.
