Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking an Avionics Technician III. The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, install, test, adjust, and inspect a variety of aircraft avionics and special mission equipment including but not limited to communication equipment (radios), autopilot, navigation, EO/IR sensors, stores management, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Meet goals to fulfill contract specifications.
- Perform daily hangar cleaning as needed.
- Maintain professional attire, appearance, and work environment in accordance with MAG Aerospace standards.
- Able to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
- May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
- All final candidates hired must successfully pass a Drug and Alcohol Testing and a background check.
- Install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, and navigation systems
- Install, inspect, test and adjust mission system equipment such as EO/IR sensors, mission computer/ moving map programs and missile control systems on aircraft.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Formal training or certificate requirements for completion of high school or equivalent and/or U.S. military technical schools or specialized training course
- Candidates shall have a minimum of Five (5) years’ experience with documented training relevant to the assigned duty position. Ability to perform individual assignments as directed; establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- Commitment to company values and ethics.
- Working knowledge and experience in reading, comprehending, and interpreting technical documents, including manuals, and technical data.
- Individual must demonstrate and maintain proficiency in understanding and complying with regulations and policies and aircraft operations and repair manuals.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware, and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft.
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings as well as be able to communicate with representatives and FSRs from supporting companies
- Ability to perform individual assignments as directed
- Familiar with Garmin 1000 or at least a glass cockpit set up.
- Have basic understanding of networks and common networking practices
- Experience with Wescam MX-15 sensors or similar and associated maintenance practices (Boresighting, Cleaning, Troubleshooting)
- Must possess reliability, communication skills, workmanship, and good judgment
- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/ or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps ladders, and work stands.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.
- Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity of moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current.
- Prior Harris/PRC radio experience
Desired Requirements
- Prior ISR experience preferred
Other Qualifications
- Must have a Secret Clearance

The projected compensation range for this position is $63750 to $106250 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
