Job Description:
The primary objective of the Training Specialist is to design, implement, and facilitate technical and regulatory training programs that ensure workforce competency, operational safety, and strict adherence to aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, AS13100, Nadcap and GE Aerospace). This role develops and maintains training programs, verifies workforce proficiency, and ensures compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards to support product quality and audit readiness. The position collaborates with Subject matter experts like (but not limited to) NDT Level III, Special Process Engineers and Quality Shared Services personnel to elaborate and execute training plans for NDT inspectors, Special Process technicians and First Article Inspection (FAI) personnel, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements. The Training specialist is also responsible for coordinating, maintaining, follow up and improving the CVP program for all applicable employees

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain training programs for inspection methods, including CMM operation, geometrical inspection, visual inspection, and advanced metrology equipment (Keyence, Contracer, etc.).
  • Train inspectors and applicable technicians in blueprint/GD&T interpretation and application using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, etc.).
  • Maintain inspectors, operators, technicians, PRBs (amongst others) qualifications and certification records in compliance with AS9100, AS13100, Nadcap, and customer requirements.
  • Develop instructional materials such as visual aids, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and e-learning modules for technical hourly employees to execute operational-specific tasks.
  • Collaborate with NDT Level III personnel to elaborate and execute training plans for NDT inspectors.
  • Ensure the appropriate employees are trained on the latest revisions of drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor inspection and operational activities and identify training needs based on audit findings, defect trends, or nonconformance reports.
  • Support root cause investigations by addressing training or skill gaps related to inspection processes.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation of trainings, competency evaluations, and certifications ensuring 100 traceability of training records.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to address recurring process nonconformities through targeted training.
  • Provide refresher training on applicable process methods and equipment for inspectors, technicians and operators as processes or requirements evolve.
  • Recommend and integrate new inspection and process technologies into training programs to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track and report training metrics such as qualification rates, defect detection rates, and training-related audit findings
  • Implementation, management and maintenance of the CVP operator certification program
  • Facilitate technical onboarding and recurrent training for manufacturing personnel and engineers.
  • Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) to track certifications, expiration dates, and specialized qualifications (e.g., Visual acuity, Special Processes amongst others).
  • Monitor training effectiveness through on-the-job evaluations and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Aerospace, or related field (or equivalent aerospace inspection/quality experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of aerospace manufacturing or inspection experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, AS13100; NADCAP preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver technical training programs.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and electronic training records
  • Strong attachment to written procedures
