The Stock Plan Administration Lead plays a key role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day stock plan administrative activities at the intersection of People, Finance, and Legal. We are seeking a leader that is resourceful, tech-savvy and fully comfortable managing stakeholders as well as direct processing.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of global equity programs, including stock options, RSUs, PSUs, and ESPPs and ensure data integrity between HRIS and equity platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, driving operational excellence.
- Oversee the relationship with broker, transfer agent, and third-party administrator.
- Lead the preparation of equity-related data to support SEC filings (Form 144s, Section 16, Form 4s, 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy).
- Ensure global tax withholding and reporting compliance.
- Own and evolve global team member education, communications, and tools to drive equity compensation understanding and engagement.
- Partner with Legal to manage the trade windows/insider trading policy and 10b5-1plans.
- Work with Accounting on stock-based compensation expense set up and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and ensure robust internal controls (SOX compliance).
- Reconcile and maintain transfer agent share reserves accuracy.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as requested.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in stock plan administration operations
- Deep technical knowledge of equity compensation vehicles (ISOs, NQs, RSUs, PSUs, ESPP) and accounting under ASC 718.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations on equity compensation to all team members
- Working knowledge of supporting SEC reporting, IRS requirements, audits, SOXcompliance, and non-U.S. equity compliance
- Ability to resolve escalated issues and problems quickly, efficiently, and independently
- Excellent work ethic and ability to multitask, prioritize and follow through on multiple projects simultaneously
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- People first mindset and excellent customer service skills

- Certified Equity Professional designation
- Experience with Equity Edge Online, Pave, Workiva, Power Automation, Power BI, and ADP Workforce Now
- Experience in a high growth company or start-up environment
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $118,600 - $181,400/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
