This position is directly responsible for the selection process of candidates who are interested in the pilot pathway and support the individuals journey to become a Pilot for American Airlines.
What youll do

Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

  • Ensures American Airline’s success in increasing the pilot supply pool and directing those pilots to American Airlines Group (AAG)
  • Develops strategies to effectively communicate to Cadet Academy applicants, as well as all prospective new pilots who inquire about opportunities with American
  • Creates and advances a selection process which will provide an inflow of new cadets who will have the best opportunity for success
  • Develops analytics to track common attributes giving highest opportunity for successful outcome in program for candidate
  • Acts as the frontline for candidate support and engagement
  • Communicates with recruitment partners to ensure candidate referrals enter selection process in a timely and well-coordinated manner
  • Works closely with flight school partners to track student inflow and class capacity
  • Supports the American presence and engagement at organizational, community, and career events throughout the US
  • Engages American cadets to provide career pathway understanding and professional development, ensuring their ultimate success and employability
  • Collaborates with broader Aviation Programs team to ensure creative improvements are always brought forward and implemented as relevant

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 3 years of recruiting experience in the aviation industry or 3 years equivalent years of civilian flight training experience
  • Knowledge of pilot qualification requirements across all certificates and ratings
  • Knowledge and understanding of the aviation training industry and demand for critical aviation roles

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • FAA Pilot Certificate

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the civilian flight training industry and airline pilot demand
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
  • Skills and ability to manage a large database of applicants, assess online applications, schedule, oversee, and conduct interviews
  • Ability to track and report data, as well as communicate effectively with program participants and partners
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
