Role Introduction
Reports to: Operations Analytics & Insights Manager
This role will be part of our Airport Service Delivery Department (ASD) who strive to provide a seamless experience for customers travelling with Cathay.
As a Senior Operations Data Analyst, you will be working closely with stakeholders from within and outside of your department to propel the usage analytics and derivation of operational insights, enabling data and insights gained from it to be the key driving force in enhancing our airport operations, ultimately contributing to Cathay’s effort in becoming one of the world’s greatest service brands.
You will be an integral part of our Operations Analytics & Insights team which supports our airport operations, gaining exposures in major projects such as the Three-Runway-System in an environment which only a world-renowned airline can provide.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all dashboards across ASD, ensuring accessibility and clarity for stakeholders to understand performance metrics
- Drive actionable insights by analyzing operational and customer, influencing the design of airport processes based on derived insights
- Collaborate with the Operations Analytics & Insights Manager and other department heads within ASD to understand transformation roadmaps and strategic priorities, identifying synergies and ensuring data requirements are met
- Develop and implement strategic and technical roadmaps for descriptive and predictive analytical models across ASD to support decision-making
- Collaborate with Digital Department and IT Department to develop a ground movement simulation / optimisation model that will be used to achieve operational readiness both pre and post implementation of the full Three-Runway-System at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)
- Ensure quality, accessibility, consistency, and governance of data, overseeing the operation and readiness of related analytics systems and capabilities
- Keep abreast of developments in analytics tools and identify opportunities for their application within ASD
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, Operations Research or related disciplines
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in data and analytics
- Excellent analytical, planning, problem solving and organising skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple tasks within defined time constraints
- Hands-on experience with mining and visualization tools such as Altreyx, Dataiku, QlikSense, Tableau with advance knowledge in data management and SQL
- Good understanding in systems and processes in the airline industry or airport operations would be an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable with cultural diversity and team work
- Curious, empathetic, open-minded, self-motivated, resourceful and strong continuous improvement mindset
- Strong project management skills with solid experience in participating in agile development work and cross departmental work
- Good understanding of data governance framework with solid experience in maintaining data catalogue
- Strong command of both spoken and written English with fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua a plus
