Job Description
Database Management:
Run daily database operations, provide 2nd level support to AirAsia Group IT systems databases.
Perform database installation and configuration, hardening, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
Liaise with IT product vendors for support and problem troubleshooting.
Be scheduled for on-call duties for problem resolution/escalation after working hours.
Be involved in the Always On failover, Disaster Recovery (DR) Test
Attend DB patching, upgrade, migration on the scheduled downtime
Design and implement databases in accordance to end user’s requirement needs.
Performance Optimization:
Proactively monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
Tune database parameters and queries to optimize efficiency.
Implement indexing strategies to improve query performance.
Troubleshoot database performance issues and resolve them effectively.
Data Integrity and Security:
Maintain data security through access controls, encryption, and auditing.
Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
Stay informed about database security vulnerabilities and apply necessary patches.
Desired Skills & Experience
Possess a Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
At least 3 years of solid working experience in the related fields.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia or additional languages is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge, technical skills and experiences in the following one or multiple domains:
SQL Server (MSSQL Always On, Failover Cluster, Log Shipping)
MySQL
Memcached or Redis
Basic infra server & network knowledge required.
Preferred experience on cloud platform. (AWS, Azure, GCP etc).
Ability to multitask, interact with all levels of users, team player, fast learner.
