Nature & Scope of Position
Perform complex/extensive business process analysis including workflow, business information requirements and modeling to define business problems and develop strategies for solutions. Lead user groups through workflow analysis and the development and implementation of technology-based and procedural solutions. Compile and analyze data to measure internal metrics and vendor performance.
Position Accountabilities
- Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of business unit/functional group business processes, the information/data required and generated by these processes, and the computer application functionality required to make these processes cost-effective and efficient.
- Organizes and facilitates meetings and walk-throughs with business unit/functional users groups to gather information relating to their business processes to identify the scope and impact of their business process issues.
- Identifies and drives continuous improvement opportunities in the business unit/functional group through reviews and assessments of current business processes and systems.
- Develops and tests new business system processes to enhance procedures and implement them within local and remote sites
- Provides business unit/functional group support and consultation regarding business process redesign.
- Supports the development of reporting metrics to monitor progress of on-going improvement projects.
- Provides data analysis of vendor performance and recommendations based on the results.
- Update / refresh data as required, based on scheduled timelines, or internal ad-hoc requirements.
- Models behavior consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.
- Documents instructions, create user manuals and training materials / processes for data analysis tools, KPIs, systems.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business administration, computer science, or engineering; recognized professional accounting designation; or equivalent considered an asset, but not required.
- Preference will be given to individuals with post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting and/or Inventory Control.
- Good planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in business process analysis.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems and databases.
- Strong technical learning ability.
- Ability to prioritize and deal with time-sensitive information required to meet production goals.
- Systematic thinker/problem solver with good multi-tasking skills.
Working Environment:
An individual in this capacity must be aware that the position will involve:
- Working in an office setting, spending a large portion of the workday in front of the computer and on the phone.
- There will be a requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while working on the shop floor.
