Job Description:

This role is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions within the Operations department by serving and processing all Air Canada Cargo customers for Export and Import Cargo. The role includes liaising with Air Canada Cargo Agents, Warehouse, booking department CCIS, internal Sales, Headquarters, CNC and external third parties on offline stations.  The role is additionally responsible for ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements for Air Canada Customers of In- and Outbound Cargo.

Responsibilities:

    Plan and assign duties to Cargo and Warehouse Agents, as and when required, plan rest breaks with minimum disruption to the operation, observe workflow and daily activities, and rotation of staff to keep skill set in useEnsure compliance with local and company SOPs, regulations, work instructions, and advisoriesEnsure Department of Transport (LBA/TC) Security Regulations, Security Register and shipment scratchpads are updatedEnsure incidents/accident are reported to the appropriate persons or that they are reported directly (QOR)Audit and report any deficiencies in the performance of the contracted Security ProviderMaintain CIQ and Flown as booked to minimum standardsMaintain a Daily Operation Synopsis to hand over to following shiftMaintain inventory/warehouse checks, HAZ (Cargo Management System/documentation vs warehouse/yard)Maintain supply chain for material support (tags, forms, spreaders, aso)Maintain ULD inventory and request, plan accordinglyCo-ordinate any Aircraft change, advising the inside sales group, Leads, Agents and 3rd partyBe visible at all times, assist in the Operation, and provide coaching as and when requiredAssist the Operational Manager to implement and design all SOP’s and ensure the smooth day to day running of the operationEnsure that a constructive continuous working relationship is maintained with the management group, CCIS, Leads and Agents, and any Third Party, and when dealing with difficult partiesEnsure that Company Policy/Procedures are adhered to and communicated to staff effectivelyRecommend any changes of processes or procedures to support or enhance Cargo businessAttend regular MeetingsRecord any absence, sickness and deviation in working hours and liaise with the Cargo Operations Manager about manpower on a daily basisProactive monitoring of next day flightsDaily preparation and delivery of briefings for Cargo and Warehouse AgentsLiaise with customers and other Air Canada Stations with regard to the status of shipments, authorization documents and applicable chargesWhen required to take responsibility as acting Cargo Operations ManagerAssisting the Cargo Operations Manager in conducting annual performance reviews and providing feedback throughout the year
Qualifications

    2 Years previous internal/external customer service experienceA good knowledge of cargo processes and proceduresVery good leadership and communication skillsExperience of Microsoft Office suite would be an advantagePrevious experience with CMS and Smartload is an asset
