General

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of People Services and collaborating with all employees as part of the People Services Team. The individual will also engage with various government regulatory agencies, including the FAA/Drug Abatement Office, OSHA, EEOC, and the Department of Labor, as needed. The ideal candidate will effectively represent the company and embody its values and culture while working with diverse employee groups in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of company health benefit plans, acting as the primary contact for benefits-related inquiries, new hire orientation, open enrollment, and benefit billing.
  • Manage all aspects of leave administration, including FMLA, LOA, STD/LTD, and Workers’ Comp. Review and respond to leave requests to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide support and backup for processing semi-monthly payroll through ADP for all personnel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while maintaining a thorough understanding of the payroll process.
  • Address unemployment compensation claims, garnishments, child support orders, and various requests from state authorities, including providing employment verifications as needed.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and leave, track leave requests to ensure compliance with applicable laws, and communicate status updates to management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records to assist with compliance and departmental audits.
  • Stay informed about state and federal leave laws to ensure company policies remain compliant.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of People Services to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, leave management, and payroll processing.
  • Proficient in ADP or similar payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • General understanding of state and federal employment laws, particularly related to benefits and leave.
  • Familiarity with general human resources processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Must be available to work in the office Monday through Friday, with occasional flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed.
