Role Summary

The Aircraft Records Analyst I research and solves straightforward aircraft part discrepancies for Alaska Airlines (AS). As a member of the Aircraft Records team, this individual contributor, works closely with other Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) departments on maintenance paperwork audits and reviews and interprets policies via the General Procedures Manual (GPM).

Key Duties

  • Focus on maintaining records and tracks life limited parts, tools, and materials to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company policies.

  • Administer paperwork for parts, power plant, heavy maintenance of parts, notes discrepancies that significantly affect the operations of the business and seeks resolution.

  • Support continuous improvement effort of both internal and external processes in compliance with FAA regulations.

  • In collaboration with team, provide input into the preparation of records, materials, and/or reports requested by other departments, the FAA, or leasing company representatives.

  • Assist in leading effort to manage execution of correcting paperwork errors, computer information problems, and any other inaccuracies as they arise.

  • Under the direction of the manager, using basic knowledge, exercise judgment to make decisions in engineering controls (EOs) for aircraft, engines, landing gear, and other components to ensure the ability to track and record required maintenance action, modifications, or repairs.

  • Maintain accurate and complete airworthiness directive (AD) compliance and assembly status, for airframes, engines and appliances in collaboration with other M&E departments.

  • Analyze and document life-limited parts back to birth and ensure the vendor provides adequate documentation on birth, use, and serviceability.

  • Preserve records and time standards of serialized aircraft parts and inspections as set forth by the AS maintenance program and FAA directives.

  • Maintain vendor records on the engine, auxiliary power unit (APU), landing gear assemblies, and rotable components for accuracy and proper documentation and determine effective approach for completing corrections when necessary in collaboration with AS Engineering or Quality Assurance

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of experience in aircraft records or related experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Understanding of TRAX computer system

  • Thorough research and analytical skills to troubleshoot problems.

  • Work effectively under demanding time constraints, completing assignments and projects with accuracy.

  • Able to interpret and understand technical documents, such as AMM, IPC, Engineering Diagrams, ADs and SBs.

  • Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with peers and outside service providers.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to problem solve, multi-task, and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of rotable and life limited parts (including certification and serviceability), FAR, and AD compliance and inventory tracking.

Salary Range

$54,100 --- $75,700 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
